“Live, Love, Laugh & Learn”

Learning is, as you might expect, at the very heart of everything we do at West Hoathly Primary School.  We also develop the children’s ability to relate well to one another, to share their skills and interests, to enjoy learning and being together.

Our emphasis isn’t just on learning, we also want to prepare them for life in the outside world.  We aim to help our children to make a valuable contribution to society now and in the future.

The school curriculum focuses on key skills; both educational, for example, reading, numbers and calculation, designing and investigation, and life skills, such as the ability to communicate effectively.

As well as teaching basic skills in a thorough and accessible manner, we plan, with parent and pupil input, cross curricular learning journeys. These include: creative activities, visits, visitors, along with a range of other engaging experiences.  Each learning journey begins with a “hook” or “stunning start” to get everyone involved and concludes with a “big outcome” such as a special day, event or presentation.
